The University of South Queensland was founded in 1967, its predecessor is Queensland Institute of Technology. In 1992 the establishment of the South Queensland University, is a by the Australian government and the Chinese Ministry of Education recognized public comprehensive university. USQ has developed into a leader in distance education with a two-track model, with more than 75% of students receiving appropriate education through remote or online learning. The International Open Distance Learning Committee (ICDE) awarded the University of Southern Queensland Award for Excellence in Recognition of its contribution to distance education and innovation in distance learning.
